Summer is here! Here are some "Cooling Tips" for you to ensure you conserve energy and keep your home cool for the summer!
1) Ceiling Fans - if you have ceiling fans run them in a counter clockwise direction, this will draw cool air upwards increasing circulation and efficiency. If you don't have ceiling fans, get them, it would be the best choice if you don't have central air conditioning in your home.
2) Air conditioning - if you have central air conditioning - make sure to clean your outdoor air conditioning units - make sure leaves, grass, seeds, dirt and other airborne particles that might get sucked into the unit.
3) Keep heat out - draw the blinds or close the curtains (use black out or thermal curtains) make sure to block out sunlight during the hottest part of the day, this will help keep the heat out and the cool air inside.
4) Get a Professional - to seal your air ducts and check out your doors, windows and fireplaces to ensure that there are no leaks - conserve the cool air inside the home.
